Scoring marks — the shorthand of a scoresheet
Single characters that record what happened to one delivery or one frame. They are grouped because each pair inside them means something similar and scores differently: a dot and a W both mean no runs, but only one is a wicket; a cross and a slash both mean the frame was cleared, but the cross carries two deliveries of bonus and the slash one.
