A decibel figure and class on an appliance label.
Also known as: dB rating, Noise class
An appliance's noise emission is stated in decibels on its energy label, and since 2021 also as a lettered class. Decibels are logarithmic, so a machine at forty-two decibels is noticeably quieter than one at forty-five rather than marginally so.
States an appliance's airborne noise emission in decibels, with a lettered class added on European labels since 2021.

Uses a logarithmic scale, so a three-decibel difference is roughly a halving of sound power rather than a small change.
