An amber lamp outline with radiating lines and a fault mark.
Also known as: Lamp failure warning, Bulb out symbol, Exterior light fault, Amber lamp with lines
The bulb failure light reports an exterior lamp not drawing current, and it is one of the few tell-tales that reports something other road users can see and the driver cannot. LED lighting has made it less common, since an LED unit fails as a whole rather than a bulb at a time.
Indicates that an exterior lamp has failed or is drawing no current.
Contexts: Vehicle dashboard
Reports a condition visible to other road users and invisible to the driver, which is the reason the tell-tale exists.
Contexts: Vehicle dashboard
Has become less common with LED lighting, where a sealed unit is replaced whole rather than a single bulb failing.
Contexts: Vehicle dashboard
An amber outline of a headlamp or bulb seen in profile with short straight rays emitting from it, and an exclamation mark or crossed line indicating fault.
