Amber rather than green, and the rays point the opposite way to the front fog symbol. The colour is doing real work: rear fog lamps dazzle following drivers and are illegal to use in good visibility.

Using rear fog lamps when visibility is not seriously reduced is an offence in Great Britain, because they are far brighter than a tail lamp and mask brake lights.
