A triangle marking three windings joined end to end.
Also known as: Mesh connection symbol, Triangle connection
A delta connection joins three windings in a closed loop with no neutral, and is drawn as a triangle. Each winding sees the full line voltage, which is why a motor run in delta draws more current at start than the same motor in star.
Denotes a three-phase connection in which the windings form a closed loop, with no neutral point available.

Puts the full line voltage across each winding, which is why star-delta starting exists: the motor starts in the gentler connection and switches to the running one.

A triangle with three equal sides drawn as a closed loop, with one connection leaving each corner.
The two ways three windings can be joined.
