A white horizontal bar on a red disc.
Also known as: Red disc bar sign, MUTCD do-not-enter
The American do-not-enter sign is a red disc with a plain white horizontal bar, a design shared with the Vienna Convention's no-entry sign. It is one of the few signs that reads the same in both systems, which is why it appears on international drives without explanation.
Prohibits entry to a road or carriageway, drawn as a white horizontal bar on a red circular field.
Contexts: Road signage
Is shared between the Vienna and MUTCD systems in essentially the same form, which is unusual and makes it one of the few internationally portable signs.
Contexts: Road signage
A circle filled red with a broad white horizontal bar across its centre.
The same design under two sign systems.
