A struck-through vertical stroke, denying exact division.
Also known as: Not divisible by, Non-divisibility sign, Does not divide
The struck vertical bar denies divisibility: the left number leaves a remainder when divided into the right. It is the ordinary negation stroke applied to the divides sign, and appears constantly in elementary number theory.
States that the integer on the left does not divide the integer on the right exactly.
