Six hexadecimal digits giving red, green and blue values.
Also known as: Hex code, RGB hex
A hex colour code is three pairs of hexadecimal digits giving red, green and blue levels from zero to two hundred and fifty-five. It describes light rather than pigment, which is why a hex code cannot specify a printed colour without a conversion that loses some of the range.
A hash sign followed by six letters and numerals drawn from the digits nought to nine and the letters A to F.
