Is mounted horizontally almost everywhere in Japan, and puts the stop lamp at the right-hand end so that it is the lamp furthest from the kerb and least likely to be hidden by a roadside obstruction or by snow load. Vertical heads are used in the snow country of the north, where a horizontal housing would collect drifts.
