Thin lines with arrows tying a note or a size to a feature.
Also known as: Leader line, Extension line, Witness line
A leader points from a note to the feature it describes and ends differently according to what it touches: an arrow on an edge, a dot inside an outline. Dimension lines run between extension lines and are never drawn over the part itself.
Connect a note or dimension to the feature it applies to, using a thin line with a defined terminator.
Contexts: Technical drawing
Terminate according to what is being pointed at: an arrowhead on an edge or a line, and a dot within a surface.
Contexts: Technical drawing
Are kept clear of the outline itself in the case of dimension lines, which run between extension lines drawn out from the feature.
Contexts: Technical drawing
Thin straight lines ending in a small solid arrowhead or dot, running from a note to a point on the drawing.
