A valve centre square with all four ports joined.
Also known as: Open centre condition, All ports open centre
In ISO 1219 fluid power diagrams an open centre shows all four ports connected in the rest position, letting the pump circulate freely to tank and leaving the actuator free.
Connects all four ports at rest, allowing pump flow to return to tank at low pressure.

Leaves the actuator unheld, so a load can drift; it is the opposite trade to the closed centre in both respects.
