The European organic logo is a leaf outlined in twelve stars on a green ground. It is a legal mark: a product carrying it must meet the organic regulation, and the mark must be accompanied by the code number of the control body that certified it and a statement of where the agricultural ingredients were farmed. It is a statement about a defined production method rather than a general claim about health, welfare or environmental impact.
