A Greek rho, resistance scaled out of the shape.
Also known as: Electrical resistivity, Specific resistance, Rho in physics
Resistivity is the material's own resistance per unit length per unit area, so a copper wire's resistance follows from its resistivity and its dimensions. The same rho means mass density and charge density, and in electromagnetism all three can appear on one page.
Denotes electrical resistivity, a material property in ohm metres, from which resistance follows given the geometry.

Is the reciprocal of conductivity, so the two carry identical information under different symbols.

Collides with mass density and with charge density, both also rho, which in electromagnetism appear alongside it.

A Greek lowercase rho, a closed bowl with a straight stroke descending below the line on its left.
