A circle shaded in eighths to show how much sky is cloudy.
Also known as: Okta circle, Cloud cover circle
The station circle itself is shaded to show total cloud cover in eighths, from open for clear to filled for overcast. A circle with a bar through it means the sky could not be observed, which is not the same as clear.
Shows total cloud cover in eighths by how much of the station circle is filled, from empty for clear to solid for overcast.
