The Sri Yantra is a geometric diagram used as a focus in Hindu tantric practice: nine interlocking triangles — four pointing up and five down — overlapping to produce a lattice of smaller triangles, set inside rings of lotus petals and a square enclosure with four gates. It is a diagram to be used rather than an emblem to be displayed, and the modern commercial treatment of it as a generic 'sacred geometry' pattern detaches it from the practice it belongs to.
Is built from nine interlocking triangles, four pointing upward and five downward, whose overlaps generate a lattice of smaller triangles inside concentric rings of lotus petals and a square enclosure with a gate on each side. Counting the nine is the reliable way to identify it.
