A taxiway centreline is a continuous yellow line along the middle of a taxiway, marking the path an aircraft's nosewheel should follow so that its wingtips clear obstacles. It carries the aerodrome's colour rule, which is worth learning on its own: yellow markings belong to taxiways and white markings to runways. Enhanced centrelines add dashed lines flanking the solid one for a short distance before a runway holding position, as a further warning that a runway is ahead.
