A small fan glyph, alone or inside a square. It says only that air is moved; what heats the air is shown by whatever else is in the square, which is why the fan almost never appears by itself.
A stylised fan of three or four curved blades, indicating that a fan circulates air within the appliance.
What a given programme actually does is in the appliance's own instructions. The symbol names the function; the manufacturer decides how it behaves.
Contexts: Electrical equipment
Says nothing about the heat source. A fan inside a circle indicates a ring element around the fan; a fan with lines above and below indicates the conventional elements with the fan assisting; a fan alone can mean no heat at all, for defrosting.
A fan with no other mark may be an unheated setting. Reading it as fan cooking is a common and consequential error.
